An animation with Piano Squall's original composition

Mike ("Piano Squall") and I have been friends since 5th grade. I'm really glad he lent me one of his original compositions to use for my midterm project here at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

Nan Desu Kan 2006

So I saw Piano Squall at Nan Desu Kan 2006 in Denver, Colorado this past weekend, and I was absolutely blown away. I had heard of Piano Squall before but had never heard any of his music or seen him in concert. I almost missed his concert on Saturday, and I am SO glad that I made it. He is amazingly talented and it was a joy to watch him perform. I almost burst out into tears during the Final Fantasy Battle Medley, so clearly could I feel his love for what he does. His pure love for the music radiated off of him so much that even just thinking about it now makes me tear up. I only hope that someday I can do something I love so much. I was also blown away that he asked everyone in the audience to come up and shake his hand once his concert was done; that's above and beyond what a lot of other performers do.

Not only does his talent stun me, but he is SO amazing for donating all that he does. Not only is he doing his normal donation for MS, but he is also most generously donating to the causes that NDK raises money for (this year most of the donations will be going to Race for the Cure). Another massive dose of awesomeness!

He is seriously an angel and I am very honored to have been able to meet him. I hope very much that he will be appearing again at Nan Desu Kan. :)

I went to Kumoricon to hear Mike play, and I can say that I made a most awesome choice. I first learned of him just glancing at the schedule, and I figured I'd check it out.

And he played 1,000 Words, and my tears dropped freely.

I love you.

YasumiCon 2006 - From a New member

Hey all, I can't say I've been a Piano Squall fan for long, nor can I say I had heard of him before today, but his performance approximately 7 hours ago at Yasumicon was absolutely amazing. His arrangements truly bring the feeling and emotion of this music to full effect.

I got chills throughout his performance of '1000 no Kotoba' and smiled along with the rest of the crowd as we were regaled and brought back by a classic nintendo theme medley.

Simply spectacular. Unforgettable.

Vic Mignona's guest-singing was also an unexpected treat. : )

Afterwards, he made it a point to meet the attendees face-to-face. He's a cool guy doing great things. Something to aspire to, no?

Intro Post/AOD Concert Report

Hey dudes, long time member, first time poster.

Long story short: I've been a fan of Piano Squall's for about two years now, but have never actually seen him perform live because I'm in California and don't really have the means to go to a convention anywhere else.

So I can't even begin to explain how happy I was to hear that he'd be performing at Anime Overdose in San Francisco this year. Apparently he was a last minute add, but I'm soooo happy that they decided to invite him. (Oh, the concert was Saturday the 5th, by the way)

I can't quite remember every piece that he played, though I certainly remember that my favorite was when he played 'The Prelude', I actually started crying a bit because it was so beautiful, and I absolutely loved his version of it, he played it so beautifully.

Woo, okay, I'll stop fangirling now, I'm sure all of you are aware of how wonderful Piano Squall is. So I leave you with two pictures. I didn't take any while he was playing because I didn't want to ruin the mood with any annoying flashes =P

Yay! I'm so happy I finally got to meet him!

current mood: Rapturous
current song: Piano Squall, of course! =n_n= Chrono Cross's "Time's Scar"

I just found out Piano Squall existed, and subsequently, I discovered I have fan-girlish tendencies... BUT completely ignoring the fact he's the made up of the stuff of my dreams...

1--Listening to him play the piano gave me the feeling of tenseness I feel every time I am unwrapping a new video game that I have been waiting forever to hold, much less PLAY...

2--Talking to him made me glow with excitement. It was as if Michael was holding a glowing stone of life and showed it to me, while smiling and saying, "Look, see how it glows." I was filled with a longing to take another stone of life and make it glow to show everyone else.

3--Watching him speak to everyone around him, was like watching a child at a park for the first time. The air crackled with excitement created by his enthusiasm because he seemed to be thrilled to be in his element.

Even after leaving A-Kon, I am still grinning like an idiot craving to emulate his enthusiasm and hoping to find a guy who can even hold a candle to him... :( THIS can't be a good thing.

I love Michael Gluck!

One of my friends here at Penn is doing a paper on Livejournal for her communications class, and she needs some data from LJ users. If y'all could fill out this survey (I swear it takes less than five minutes) and send it back to ktmurph2@sas.upenn.edu, that'd be awesome! Thanks!

(Mods, I apologize if this is too far off-topic, feel free to delete if it is)

1. How long have you been a livejournal member?
2. Are you a paid member?
3. How often do you post?

4. How many LJ friends do you have?
---a. How many were your friends outside LJ first?
---b. How many did you meet through LJ?

5. Of your friends outside LJ, have you ever...
---a. Visited their home?
---b. Asked them for advice?
---c. Used them for emotional support in some way?
---d. Borrowed money from them?
---e. Asked for their help in some other way?

6. Of the friends you met through LJ (if any), have you ever...
---a. Visited their home?
---b. Asked them for advice?
---c. Used them for emotional support in some way?
---d. Borrowed money from them?
---e. Asked for their help in some other way?

Piano Squall at Llamacon!  Feb 25th 2006, Great Barrington MA
by DOKool (dokool)
at November 21st, 2005 (08:59 am)

Hey guys,

Doesn't look like anybody's mentioned it here, but Piano Squall will be the musical guest of honor at Llamacon, a one-day convention to take place on Feb 25th, 2006 at Simon's Rock College in Great Barrington, MA.  Great Barrington is waaaaay on the western side of the state, a spitting distance from the NY border.  However, we're about an hour from Albany, 90 minutes north of Hartford and 2.5h west of Boston or north of NYC, so in reality it's not too bad a trek.

Llamacon is specifically focusing on fan-works and fan-created content, which is why we're excited to have Piano Squall perform for our attendees.  Additionally we've decided to up the ante, inviting the Bad Luck Cosplay Band to perform the opening set.  Any of you who were at Anime Boston will remember Bad Luck from their Masquerade performance, and we think that they're a perfect match for Piano Squall's music.

Pre-registration for Llamacon will be $7, while at-the-door registration will be $10 (we thoroughly encourage you to pre-register so we can have some sort of idea as to how many people are coming!).  Other events than Piano Squall include our 100% Fanworks Video Track (AMVs, Fandubs, and Documentaries), a panel track focusing on fan-creation, another panel track focusing on fan-fiction and writing, and an Artist Alley.  Present in the Alley and our panel track will be Jeph Jacques, the writer/artist behind Questionable Content.

See you there!
